Estrildidae

Estrildidae is a family of small passerine birds commonly known as estrildid finches or waxbills. They are typically colorful, social birds with short, conical bills adapted for seed-eating. Native to Africa, Asia, and Australasia, estrildid finches often form flocks and inhabit grasslands, savannas, and open woodlands.
