Meropidae
Meropidae is a family of colorful, insectivorous birds known as bee-eaters. They are slender, medium-sized birds with long, pointed bills, pointed wings, and often bright plumage in shades of green, blue, yellow, and red. Found in Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australasia, bee-eaters feed primarily on flying insects—especially bees and wasps—which they catch in flight and remove stingers from before eating.
