Procyonidae

Procyonidae is a family of medium-sized mammals that includes raccoons, coatis, kinkajous, olingos, and ringtails. They are generally omnivorous and characterized by dexterous forepaws, long tails (often ringed), and adaptable behaviors. Native to the Americas, procyonids occupy a wide range of habitats—from forests and tropical regions to urban environments—and many species are skilled climbers and primarily nocturnal.
