Salmonidae

Salmonidae is a family of ray-finned fishes that includes salmon, trout, chars, freshwater whitefishes, and graylings. They are typically cold-water species found in the Northern Hemisphere and are known for their streamlined bodies and well-developed adipose fin. Many salmonids are anadromous; hatching in freshwater, migrating to the ocean to grow, and returning to freshwater to spawn. While others spend their entire lives in lakes and rivers.
