Upupidae

Upupidae is a small family of birds that includes the hoopoes. They are easily recognized by their distinctive crest, long slightly curved bill, and striking black, white, and buff plumage. Found across Europe, Asia, and Africa, hoopoes inhabit open landscapes such as grasslands, savannas, and farmland, where they feed mainly on insects and other small invertebrates.
